Southwind Park is the newest park in the Springfield park system.
The park was and is designed for use by all citizens, but specifically for use by the disabled.
It is with this in mind that this memorial was designed. So that ALL citizens with disabilities can have access to and appreciate this meorial.

Description of Memorial:
The memorial is in a serene setting that overlooks a semi-circular lake, with a wide open view.
It is designed so that all people can easily access this memorial. It is handicap accessible.
It memorial itself, is designed in a semi-circle. All the plaques are presented in a circular design to represent the Service Emblems.
The park is not completed yet. It is expected to be done by the summer of 2011.
