The Compton Hill Water Tower was constructed in 1898 and remained in service until 1929. This water tower was constructed as a stand-pipe water tower to regulate water pressure rather than to store water. Compton Hill Water Tower stands at 179-feet tall and is constructed of brick and stone. The water tower observation deck was available to the public until the 1970's but has since been closed.
