At Veterans Park, this memorial can be found among several others. The center of the park has a fountain and radiating outward are paths , like spokes, which almost all contain war memorials. One of these spokes radiates to the south, and at the end of this spoke is this memorial, ending a 10 feet or so from the street. This monument is three-tiered. There is a base which is concrete and octagonal. There is a 2 foot cube-like piece of stone on top of this one foot base. There is an inscription on the piece that faces the street. It reads:
Dedicated As
A Lasting Tribute
To The
Men and Woman of
HAMILTON
TOWNSHIP
Who Served
Their Country
Another side of the base reads:
VIETNAM CONFLICT
In Memory of
Those Hamilton Township
Residents
Who Gave Of
Their Lives
Serving This Nation
William Leander Deal
Robert John Gasko, JR
The third side reads:
WORLD WAR I
In Memory Of
Joseph Simpkins
Thomas Hannum
James Giordano
* * *
KOREAN
CONFLICT
Harry Hartmann Jr.
The fourth and final side reads:
WORLD WAR II
In Memory Of
Vincent C. Loeffel
Chris Marucci
Donald Keller
Edward Vender
Carl A. Goetz
David Ernst
Paul Guinta
Alonzo E. Merlino

The third part extend upward like a shaft, four sides on top of the inscribed section. It rises approximately six feet and is topped off by a half sphere, flat side down. Just beneath that is a frieze which extends all sides around. Various military insignia, symbols and a sword are engraved on the granite shaft.
In front of the base, inset into the concrete is a bronze plaque, now completely green with age. It reads:
Dedicated May 30, 1955
_______________
Joseph Venuti, Chairman
William Davies
Hera G. Liepe
The location of this monument is a really beautiful place, especially in the summer months. There is a center of town park in Mays Landing, beautiful, historic and smack dab in the middle of everything that is old and historic in this town. There are very old churches, buildings, historical markers and lots of war memorials including this one. The center square features a gorgeous fountain. The rest of the memorials either surround the fountain in a circle, lying where the grass meets the brick of the inner circle or are just beyond it, like this one.
Access to the memorial is pretty simple. Park along the many places provided on the street. Walk to the beautiful center of town and look around. Keep your visits from Dawn to Dusk. Naturally with a town this big and a memorial so beautiful, there is absolutely no mention of this anywhere on the internet.
