Long Description:"The marker commemorates the North Carolina soldiers of the U.S. Army's 30th "Old Hickory" Division, who fought to break the Hindenburg Line in France during World War I. The designation "Old Hickory" in honor of Andrew Jackson was given to North Carolina Highway 10, which spanned the state from Murphy to Beaufort. The marker was sponsored by Raleigh Chapter No. 10 of the American War Mothers."
