In addition to the Visitors Information Center, the Bakersfield Train/Amtrak Station is located just a few hundred feet away, causing the Memorial to be viewed by hundreds of travelers each week.

Description of Memorial: The memorial consists of a central opaque glass wall that is fashioned into a spiral, and is the centerpiece of a water feature that includes multiple jets for spraying water into the air. This water feature and glass wall is contained inside a circular low concrete wall which in turn is located in a paved concrete path that is incircled by the flags of all of the branches of service plus the American flag. A simple pyramid-shaped two-dimensional granite slab has been engraved with the words "To Honor Those Who Served". There are a couple of benches and simple landscaping/bushes on the outer edges of the Memorial.
