Painted barn quilts are starting to appear on the countryside in Sioux County, IA in the far northwest corner of the state. This quilt shows a plethora of yellow, green, and blue triangles which seem to spin on the side of this metal storage shed. Located several miles south of Orange City on County Highway K 64, this quilt is close to the road for a great close-up view.
While barn quilts are relatively new in this part of the state, it appears that it is becoming a popular art form, and we look forward to spotting many more in our area in the near future.
Your Visit:
After finding the three barn quilts north of Orange City, I continued south of town to find the one listed there. I was glad to see it so close to the road so I wouldn’t feel intrusive when getting a closer photo.
