The post office in Arcadia is located at 101 N. Odor Street, in this town of about 285. Opened for non-Indian settlement with the Land Run of 1889, Arcadia immediately became a successful farming area, located in the rich Deep Fork basin. When the railroad came through the area in 1903, a commercial district was established here. A post office was established on August 2, 1890.

Arcadia is located on historic Route 66. Odor Street is named for the farmer who built the Arcadia Round Barn about two blocks west of the post office, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
