Take a drive out into the Hawkes Bay countryside and discover this large Macrocarpa tree that has been regularly taking its vitamin tablets every day, munching through the Iron of an old piece of machinery left propped against its trunk many years ago.
The hungry tree is on the fenceline beside the road, at the driveway entrance to a remote country farm. It can be clearly seen and photographed without entering any private property.
Location: Anaroa Rd near Raukawa.
