The wood cross is mounted on a three tier concrete pedestal. The cross is a crucifix of Jesus. At the top of the cross are the letters INRI, which are an acronym of the Latin inscription IESVS·NAZARENVS·REX·IVDÆORVM meaning in English "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews.


Describe the location:
The cross is located near the St. John's holy well. The area has the well along with alter. A short distance away are the ruins of the Killone Abbey.
