The Nita Stewart Haley Memorial Library is a privately-funded, independent, charitable institution that has thousands of books, original records, art and artifacts pertaining to the history of Texas and the American Southwest. While it offers something for everyone, its main purpose is as a professional research library.
With its collection of more than 25,000 books, manuscripts and other printed material documenting western history, it is a treasure trove for anyone writing about the west, whether a screenwriter, author or someone just interested in the history of the area.
There is no charge to use the library, and visitors are always welcome. The library is open weekdays only, and the hours are 9 to 5. The address is:
