Der Große Arber ist mit 1455,5 m ü. NN der höchste Berg des Bayerischen Waldes und von Niederbayern. Außerdem stellt ein Felsriegel westlich vom Gipfelkreuz mit 1439,6 m ü. NN den höchsten Punkt der Oberpfalz dar. Der in den Landkreisen Cham und Regen gelegene Berg wird daher auch als „König des Bayerischen Waldes“ bezeichnet. The Grosser Arber (1456 m) is the highest peak of the Bavarian-Bohemian mountain range and is often
referred to as "King of the Bavarian Forest". The Grosser Arber and the woodlands down to Bayerisch
Eisenstein are owned by Prince von Hohenzollern.
Top
The top consists of four groups of rocks: Grosser Arber, Bernstein, Richard Wagner, and Spitz Ostspitze. Near
the main peak are two circular towers (television transmitter, radar and weather station). From the Great Arber
can get a perfect panoramic view of many peaks of the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest. The peak is
specific for its unusual flora of the local area, close to the alpine nature rather than the nature of the rest of
the mountain.
Fauna
You can see lynx, deer and wild boar living. Also figures of foxes and deers are here successfully expanding.
Access
The easiest access is from saddleback Brennes, where you can park and continue by foot or even by a cableway.

1456 m vysoky Grosser Arber/Velky Javor je najvyssou horou Bavorsko-ceskeho hranicného horskeho masivu, preto je tiez
oznacovany ako "Kral Bavorskeho lesa". Velky Javor a zalesnene uzemie tahajuce sa az k Bavorskej Rude patri k
majetku panovnickeho rodu Hohenzollernovcov.
Vrchol
Vrchol tvoria styri skupiny skal: Großer Arber, Bernstein, Richard Wagner-Spitze a Ostspitze. V blizkosti hlavneho
vrcholu su dve kruhove veze (televizny vysielac, radarova a meteorologicka stanica). Z Velkeho Javora sa naskyta
dokonaly kruhovy vyhlad na mnoho vrcholov Bavorského lesa aj Šumavy. Vrchol je specificky svojou, pre tunajsiu
oblast nevsednou florou. Blizi sa skor vysokohorskemu charakteru nez charakteru zvysku celeho pohoria.
Fauna
V oblasti Velkeho Javora mozete uvidiet rysa, jelena europskeho alebo aj divoke prasa. Uspesne sa tu zabyvavaju aj
lisky a srnce.
Pristup
Najjednoduchsi pristup je zo sedla Brennes, kde je mozne parkovat a dalej pokracovat peso alebo dokonca lanovkou.
Moznosti je viac, staci si vybrat tu svoju.
