Marlow Cemetery is a very large area on the northeast edge of Marlow. To reach the main entrance, turn off Highway 81 onto Memorial Street and travel east to the end. There are numerous paved roadways throughout the cemetery. The war memorial is located along the north-south Ash Road, on the east side.
This is a very large granite memorial with a large concrete area to the west, and shrubs and plantings. The monument is divided into five adjoining granite slabs. At the top, etched in color is an American flag, with the quote from Patrick Henry, "Give me liberty or give me death."
On the lower left and right of both sides of the monument are colorful seals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, who have dedicated this monument. On the five pillars are the names of veterans from many wars. Names are listed under each of the following wars:
World War I
World War II
Korea
Civil
Vietnam
Persian Desert Storm Era
Mexican
Spanish American
At the base of the monument are the words "In memory of the veterans of our beloved America/Marlow, Oklahoma"
