Like several other post offices in coastal southwestern Connecticut, this one is located very close to the railway station. In this case, the station (which displays its name with an apostrophe -- Green's Farms -- unlike the P.O., which omits it) is just up a small hill.
Outside the P.O. stands a large old bell, whose inscription says it was made by the McShane foundry of Baltimore in 1887.
Greens Farms is not a political subdivision of Connecticut; it is located within the boundaries of the town of Westport.
