The plaque at the plaza reads:
"The entire design of the Plaza incorporates vaious artistic elements which represent certain aspects of service to our country. It was the express purpose to create a design that would be eternal rather than traditional. In this way, the Plaza represents all veterans, not just those who have preceded us but hose who are yet to come.
the obelisk honors courage and is made of three-eights of an inch thick stainless steel.
The sphere represents unity and global service. It is hand hewn granite wieghing sixteen tons. The flam signifies valor and sacrifice.
The water represents healing."
