Opened in 1925 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, the modern style Pines Theater in downtown Lufkin was designed by W. P. Barry. Featuring the latest in technology, it was equipped to show the new 'talkies', as well as having a pipe organ to accompany silent films.
Closed for a time as well as once being reincarnated as a church, today it is undergoing a complete renovation that will total over $1,000,000 when completed.
