The memorial is a 16-foot Celtic cross with bronze plaques (only the one on the front is visible due to fence preventing access, plaques are also located on sides of base listing names of who lost their lives in Burma, South Africa and west Africa). The bronze plaque on the front of the memorial is inscribed:
