This San Antonio 9/11 Memorial is open to the public but is owned privately by the International Community Development Corporation (ICDC)which is associated with the nearby New Life Christian Center. In developing this wonderfully large 9/11 memorial, the ICDC allowed donors to "purchase" a personal paver for $91.10, according to the pamphlet "The San Antonio 9/11 Memorial Educational Initiative" that is available free at the memorial. In the center of the Wall of Freedom is the central plaque explaining the symbolism of the memorial. In front of the Wall of Freedom is the list of names of the victims who died from the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. In front of this list is one of the clusters of donated paver stones. There are several clusters of engraved bricks at various places through out the walkways of this memorial. Some pavers are informational but most are personal bricks with names of those who contributed toward building this memorial.
