Maebashi sits on the north Kanto plain in central Honshu, the furtherst from the coast of any prefectural capital in Japan. It spreads out in on this flat land on either side of the Tone River, Japan's second longest, with Mt. Akaba in the background.

A station was originally built on this site in 1889.

The train will take about two hours to central Tokyo. If you're on the run, grab something at the McDonalds located on the lower level.
