The two-story brick building at 127 N. Main Street in downtown Blanchard is occupied by the local Subway sandwich shop. On its north wall, a mural is painted which depicts the town in its early days.
Established in 1907, the town of Blanchard, like most towns, was dependent on the railroad. This mural shows a train pulled by a steam engine, pulling into the station. A horse and buggie, the mainstay for early settlers is shown too.
In the background is the town water tower and several buldings - a store, a mill and a church, as well as two drovers roping a steer.
