This covered bridge was constructed as part of Federal Government funded project in the 1980’s. Gabe Krammer, Commissioner of Works for the Town of Petrolia oversaw the project and designed the bridge after visiting several covered bridges. The bridge was constructed from an old barn that was torn down to give it a rustic look. The supports underneath the bridge were supports form the old road that used to exist there.
The plaque on the bridge was dedicated on May 28th, 1994 and it's now a popular spot for local wedding photos.
