The foundation stones of the former head office of the Western Australian branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia,

This impressive stone building was once the proud HQ of the Commonwealth Bank, in the state of Western Australia, but now in these days of ATMs and downsizing, the bulk of the structure is given over to a clothing store for teenagers!
There are two foundation stones, one on either side of the eastern entrance to the building, which faces into Forrest Chase. I have decided to use the foundation stone laid by the chairman of the bank as the designated corner stone.
Year of construction: 1933
Full inscription: THIS STONE WAS LAID
BY
SIR ROBERT GIBSON GBE
CHAIRMAN OF DIRECTORS
COMMONWEALTH BANK OF AUSTRALIA
ON THE 22ND DAY OF MARCH 1933
