The congregation of this church was originally based at A chapel of ease to the Parish of Bradford, called the Old Bell Chapel. It was built in South Field Lane in 1806, the first burial taking place in 1809, the same year of consecration. The chapel was later converted to an infant school when firm foundations could not be found for a tower.
The current church was built between 1871 and 1874. It is a missionary church with links to Egypt and Uganda.
It has 3 separate congregations that meet at the church on a Sunday, Living Waters, Synergy and Roots
