The Church of St Michael and All Angels, in Nether Wasdale, was originally a chapel of ease for St Bees Priory church. The East window behind the altar is the only currently decorated window.

The church is a grade 2 listed building. Many items and fixtures came after a fire in 19th century at from York Minster. The two-light East window of 'Resurrection Morning' is by Shrigley and Hunt, and is a memorial to the men of the parish who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918. The church is thought to be built in 16th century, with north aisle added in 19th century.
