This ice cream parlor is the “cream of the crop” when it comes to a place to visit for a cool treat. The sweet shop, now located in the historic George Pew Building, is furnished in a 1920’s style with a pressed tin ceiling, high backed booths and a high stool soda fountain counter with a mirrored backdrop. Blue Bunny is known for its plethora of flavors, and here a visitor can choose from a sample of those hard-packed treats for take-out cones or dine-in specialty sundaes, shakes or malts. Their menu includes a wide array of ice cream desserts. Birthday rooms and a gift shop are also available.
A museum is located on the second floor to share the Blue Bunny story of how Fred Wells created the largest family-owned dairy business in the country. The community of Le Mars takes very seriously it’s notoriety as the Ice Cream Capital of the World. More ice cream is produced in Le Mars than any other place in the world. The ice cream parlor is now located at 115 Central Avenue and can be easily found by the giant ice cream sundae on the sidewalk.
