Large white marble and black granite memorial in the southwest corner of the Kerr County Courthouse Square. The outside white marble panels have the names of those who died during World War I, World War II, The Korean War and the Vietnam War engraved in them. The interior black panel has the American flag at the top and the insignia's of the five branches of the armed forces at the bottom. In the center are the words: "Kerr County War Memorial Dedicated In loving memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice and in honor of all who served November 1991".

Off to the side in front of the monument are two gray granite benches. The right one says: Project of the Kerrville Chapter Operation Desert Storm Support Group 1990-1991. The one on the left says: Project of the American Legion Kerrville Memorial Post 208 1990-1991.

Kerr County saw 85 of its young men die in the four wars listed, WW I-19, WW II-48, Korea-6 and Vietnam-12. Plans are currently underway to expand the memorial so the names of those who have died in Iran and Afghanistan can be added.

Description of Memorial:
Memorial is large enough and in a location so that it can be seen from the main north-south street through town. The contrast between the white and black stone is moving. There are 85 names on the memorial.
