This is the North Carolina State U.S. Bicentennial Time capsule located next to the North Carolina Museum of History and across the street for the State Legislative Building in Raleigh.

A plaque marks the spot where this time capsule is buried and for some Bicentennial flavor, a replica of the Liberty Bell is nearby.

This time capsule was placed in 1976 and is to be opened in 2076.
