This is a Bedford County owned covered bridge crossing that is still in use for vehicular traffic today.
The bridge was once owned by a Dr. Shiller, the third name listed above.

Description of Covered Bridge: The Colvin Bridge's truss system is classified as a multiple kingpost truss. This bridge is quiet unusual compared to most multiple kingpost type truss structures found thoughout the state. Except for the centermost vertical timber of the truss, all of the other "verticals" actually lean towards the end approximately fifteen to twenty degrees off vertical. In addition, the diagonal timbers reach only halfway up the verticals.
Bridges crosses Shawnee Creek.
Bridge is presently in use, is a one span bridge,owned by county of Bedford, builder is unknown, 70 ft. 7 in. in length, 12 ft. 1 in. in width.
