This ferry is a reactive cable ferry, i.e. it has no engine of any kind but uses the power of the current to get across the river. It connects the city with the Klingental area on the North side of the Rhine.
It is a pedestrians ferry used by tourists and locals likewise.
It was established in 1894. Transfer costs 1.60 CHF for adults. Daily service, except for floods.
