Theater Arlecchino was founded in 1997 as a free troup of actors. They used to play in the "Kuppel" in Basel. In the autumn 2005 they could open their own theater in the North of Basel. Early 2010 the theater received a donation that allowed to build in a wheelchair lift and a handicapped accessible toilet. The theater has a capacity of 160 seats and a little restaurant with 50 seats.
There are usually three performances a week (Wed, Sat, Sun) from September to May.
The troup produces many dramatic adaptions of well-known fairy tales and other children's books, sometimes co-production with other troups. And there are many concerts of the most famous local children musicians, musicals, circus or puppet plays.
