Camping barns are one step up from camping but two steps down from YHA. You provide your own bedding and food. The barn is converted to provide the minimum needed to stay. Toilet, shower and electricity. Upstairs for sleeping, downstairs ablutions. Climb a steep staircase to get to upper floor. Walls sealed for insulation. Bring your own stove. Or nearby pubs do meals.
Wasdale is a very quiet valley. No street lighting, no pavements. Few discerning visitors.
