The text on the marker reads "Rogers' Rangers and Revolutionary hero, served at Bunker Hill and in Washington's New Jersey campaign of 1776-77, and commanded the American militia which decisively defeated two detachments of Burgoyne's army near Bennington, Vermont, August 16, 1777. A stone marks his birthplace on Stark Road, six-tenths of a mile easterly on Lawrence Road."
The stone which marks the place of General Stark's birth can be found at the following coordinates: N42° 51.936 W71° 16.840. To visit the stone marker, head east on Lawrence Road for just over 1/2 a mile, then turn right on Stark Road. The marker is just down the road on the right.
