Depicted on the sign are traditional and agricultural images of life in Lavendon. The central focus is the church of St Mary the Virgin with a traveller passing by on horseback. The towering war memorial stands proudly in the foreground whilst rural images of sheep, wheat, poppies and a tractor are shown.

There is a plaque describing the formation of the sign which reads:
'This sign was erected in
celebration of the
Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee,
July 2002.
Based on drawings by children
from our local school, with
money raised by the village.'
