On the northwest corner of Broadway and Washington Street in downtown Tecumseh is a lovely landscaped area honoring the local veterans. A gray granite pillar approximatey 6 ft. high, capped with a slab of black granite shows the inscription: "Erected as a tribute to our sons and daughters who have served their country with honor." On the pillar are etched the seals of the four branches of service: Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force.
Atop the pillar are bronze heads of four service personnel with the inscription: World War II, World War I, Korea and Vietnam.
Donated pavers line the pathways in this area. There is a bench and shrubs and flower gardens.
