In a way, the world has passed Pecos by, with the train station being one of the reminders of what once was. Recently it was renovated with the idea of using it for the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame, but for now those plans are on hold. The exterior sides facing the downtown area have been cleaned up, but the side facing the tracks still carries the slightly faded word, Pecos, above a boarded up window.
