It was commissioned by developers Asda St. James through the Per Cent for Art Scheme as a piece of public sculpture to enhnance the car park area of the retail park.

The website listed in the variables is for Bradford's Sculpture Trail. The light bulb does not form part of the trail itself, being too far away to be included in the main tour. Howevert is of enough interest to be mentioned in the guide. If you want to do it as part of the tour then when you reach the sculpture called Fibres, keep walking in the same direction. This will take you to the retail park, which is about 10 minutes away. You will then have to retrace your route back to Fibres. However there are a number of places where you can get food at the park including McDonalds.

If you look across the road to the derelict woollen mill called Midland Mill you will see a large goat weathervane on top of the building. I think this is the largest weathervane I've ever seen, and reflects the history of Bradford as a large wool spinning centre.
