Going north out of Llangollen on the A542, towards Ruthin and Denbigh, we pass through the Vale of Llangollen, one of the headwater valleys of the River Dee system. Just before we get to the summit of the pass there is a large pull-off on the roadside where parking is safe. There is a small sign saying that this is the parking area but no further information, and a seat.
Cross the road to look back down the valley towards Llangollen.
