The font is a modern design with some good, twisted stonework which seems to wrap around the base and bowl. The bowl itself has a beautiful etched design of dragonflies. These represent an ancient symbol of Resurrection with the nymph in the bottom of the bowl and the fully emerged adult dragonfly on the side of the bowl.
The church dates to the 13th century and was consecrated on St George's day in 1222, the same year that St George became the Patron Saint of England.
