This old hillfort and chalky landscape forgives Bedfordshire for its usual, rampant clay soil. From the top here a glorious autumn landscape awaited us with the vibrant colour of the trees. This view would be great in any season though and takes in the nearby villages of Pulloxhill with its water tower to the north and another water tower at Pirton to the east.
