De Kennemerduinen is not only a large recreational area in the North Sea dunes west of Amsterdam, it is also provides the drinking water supply for a large part of the province of Noord Holland. Additionally, it is a major wildlife area, hosting various types of deer and other mammals as well as a large part of the species of birds that are native to The Netherlands.
