The soldier is in uniform with a cap and pants tucked into his boots. His left hand resting at his waist grips his jacket so that it is pulled aside making his belt and belt buckle visible. He has a what appears to be a leather pouch attached to his belt. A bayonet/blade is hanging by his left side.
