This statue appears in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor. This valuable and important collection is attributed to Ferdinand de Rothschild and is maintained by The National Trust with the Rothschild Charity today.

Grade II Listed on 29th January 1985 this statue dates to about 1817 and is designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen. It is carved from marble and depicts a naked shepherd boy. He sits on a tree stump with a fleece covering it and he holds a shepherd's crook; his dog sits next to him.
