This relatively new branch library is in a suburban neighborhood of northern San Diego named for a cattle ranch that operated in the area from the early 19th century until the mid-20th. The name means "Little Cliffs Ranch."
It is on Salmon River Road, which sounds like an odd name for southern California, but there were actually salmon that swam up streams in this area to spawn hundreds of years ago, although there are no salmon here now.
