Seymour Tower, was built of granite in 1782 and was the only square tower built, the later towers were round.
This tower is located a mile and a half offshore in a
RAMSAR designated area. It is only possible to visit on foot during certain tides (this inter-tidal area experiences one of the most extreme tidal ranges in the world).
For safety reasons the walk to this tower should only be conducted with a suitably qualified local guide such as the following:
Jersey Walk Adventures
Jersey Heritage also offer the opportunity to
stay overnight at the tower.
This tower is also now featured on Jersey Currency issued in 2010, on the ten pound note.
