The Dream Bar is one of an innumerable number of small bars situated along the Mekong riverfront of Phnom Penh, which cater to the resident expat, and to the occasional tourist who wanders in. Once inside the Dream Bar a patron can escape the busy and noisy world outside and enjoy a refreshing drink, sit back and relax with music, play a game of pool, watch a sports match or a movie on one of the flatscreens, and/or enjoy a pleasant conversation with a beautiful Cambodian hostess, who will listen to your cares and concerns, and knowledgeably agree with your conclusions (or so I am told).
An entertaining mix of customers (so I am told)—usually older men, from somewhere back in 'the world', who usually have one or two problems (usually money or women, (or both)), and who always have a story (or two) to tell, and who are happy to enjoy the quiet life of an expat, situated far from their distant concerns.
If you stop by to waymark, the gentlemanly thing to do is buy at least one lady at least one 'lady drink', us$3 (so I am told).
Over the two entrances to the Dream Bar neon signs shine out into the night, inviting (so I am told) the passing gentlemen into the Bar. Situated on the south west corner of the intersection, hard to miss.
