At the entrance to the Taupo Boat Harbour near several moored floatplanes there is a helicopter landing pad on a special pontoon at the river entrance. It is marked with a yellow circle and a large yellow H.
Helicopter flights to and from the pontoon near the boat harbour (where the Waikato River flows from the lake) may be expected in suitable weather.
The helipad can be viewed from the river as you pass by, or from the Floatplane carpark or Boat Harbour carpark on Ferry Road, Taupo.
