The sign says:

"In 1869, Frank Kennedy introduced the reel oven, which works like a ferris wheel, moving dough automatically through the heat. This new method increased speed and control, allowing for many different kinds of cookies and crackers. In 1892, the Fig Newton made with James Mitchell's newly patented 'pie making' machine, was first baked and named on this site."

The sign is located on a corner of Franklin St. and Sidney Place, and is on the original Kennedy Bakery building, now residential lofts.
