There are many artesian wells in Murray and the Salt Lake City area, and they have been used since the 1930s when they were discovered and pipelines installed to utilize the source. There are still a couple of "open" artesian wells available for use, in city parks.
The Murray Laundry was a commercial business that had a large laundry at this location from about 1920 to the 1970s.
