An historical marker at the site provides the following information about the Dublin Town Pound:
"Built in late 18th century. Estrayed animals were driven here, then taken away by owners after paying costs. Opposite, a few rods west, is site of Dublin's 1st Meetinghouse (1771). Horizontal marble slabs in cemetery mark Pastor Sprague & wife's graves."
