Built in 1884 in Stuart Revival style.
Designed by Basil Champneys.
1884-1892 Bedford Grammar School extension.
1882-1938 Girls' Modern School.
Named after Earl Cowper,
Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire (1861-1905).'
