The octagonal font has some large engravings in the stonework. The church was restored under Clutton in 1876-7 and the font appears to be Victorian in design. It has the following inscription around the rim:
'EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT HE CANNOT ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD'.
Pevsner describes the church as being 'historically important' built in the Late Perpendicular style. It was probably built by Sir John Gostwick, Master of the Horse to Cardinal Wolsey and later Treasurer of the First Fruits and Tenths under Henry VIII.
